At the RMK Marine shipyard in Istanbul, the second Ukrainian Ada-class corvette, "Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky" (F-212), was ceremoniously launched into the water.

Photos from the ceremony were shared by the news outlet Clash Report on social media platform X (Twitter).

Attendees at the launch included Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Commander of the Naval Forces Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Baykar owner Haluk Bayraktar, Hero of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev, and First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

The ceremonial laying of the corvette "Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky" took place last August at a shipbuilding facility in Istanbul. According to Turkish traditions, the ceremonial laying occurs only after part of the sections and hull have been built.

According to representatives of the Ukrainian Navy, all construction work on the vessel is proceeding according to the schedule outlined in the agreement. On May 29, the lead ship of the Ukrainian contract, the flagship of the Ukrainian Naval Forces "Hetman Ivan Mazepa" (F-211), underwent its initial sea trials. This ship is also being built for Ukraine in Turkey.

The first of the two corvettes being built by Turkey for Ukraine is named "Hetman Ivan Mazepa" (F-211). Construction began in January 2021, with the ship's keel being laid in September 2021. By that time, 13 sections and the hull of the ship had already been assembled. On September 18, 2022, the construction of the corvette's hull was completed, and it was launched on October 2. The corvette will become the new flagship of the Ukrainian Navy following the sinking of the "Hetman Sagaidachny" due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
