The Zaporizhzhia and Nikopol ferroalloy plants, which are part of the "Privat" group owned by Igor Kolomoisky, have suspended their operations.

The suspension of the furnace units for the winter period is due to the lack of continuous electricity and water supply. During the downtime, the enterprise will focus on conducting repair works.

According to the Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloy Plant, interruptions in electricity and water supply have a negative impact on the technical condition of the furnace units, which are very expensive (the cost of just one furnace reaches hundreds of millions of hryvnias). Each start and heating of the furnace is associated with significant capital expenditures and the production of non-conforming ferroalloys.

Instead, domestic customers' orders for the winter period will be covered by the stocks of previously manufactured ferroalloys.

Furthermore, the Mayor of Nikopol, Olexander Sayuka, confirmed the suspension of the Nikopol ferroalloy plant from November 1st during his press conference.
