Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitalii Koval and Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Jacob Jensen signed a Memorandum on expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector. The signing took place during Vitalii Koval's visit to Denmark.

The document outlines priority areas of cooperation, including European integration processes.

The ministers also discussed shared challenges and opportunities for deepening the partnership between Ukraine and Denmark — in particular, investment in Ukraine’s agricultural sector and support for its recovery after the war.

Key discussion topics:

  • The productivity of agricultural production in Denmark is 15 times higher than in Ukraine. Therefore, Ukraine continues to develop advanced processing capacities.
  • Agriculture in Denmark is a high-tech industry deeply rooted in tradition. Innovation is embraced, but farmers remain respected.
  • The Danish state provides a stable environment for farmers — from preferential loans to export support and green transition policies.
  • Fisheries and aquaculture are strategic areas. Ukraine also has potential in these sectors, especially in the context of post-war reconstruction.

“For Ukraine, a strong agricultural sector is a matter of food security and energy stability. Denmark understands this well and supports us. I am confident our cooperation will only grow stronger,” said Vitalii Koval.
