Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Tetiana Berezhna, and Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Marta Cienkowska, agreed during an online meeting to deepen bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications reported, according to Ukrinform.

Berezhna thanked the Polish government and people for their comprehensive support of Ukraine, particularly in the cultural sphere since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. She highlighted the importance of the recent reburial ceremony in the village of Puzhnyky, Ternopil region — a result of constructive cooperation on search and exhumation efforts.

According to Berezhna, the event marked an important step toward mutual historical understanding and the dignified commemoration of the dead.

She also summarized the outcomes of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Rome, where new cultural initiatives were at the center of attention — including the creation of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund and the Cultural Resilience Alliance. Poland has been invited to join these formats and to participate in the Alliance’s inaugural meeting and other projects.

In November, the second international conference “Cooperation for Resilience” will take place in Copenhagen, where Berezhna’s team will present the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund, which will mobilize international resources to restore and protect Ukraine’s heritage.

The two sides also discussed organizing tours of Ukrainian theaters in Poland and stressed the importance of supporting such initiatives for both countries.

They separately addressed the continuation of joint exhumation work, confirming readiness for further coordination and comprehensive assistance in implementing these efforts.
