President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with media representatives before the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, the start of EU accession negotiations and the NATO Summit. He spoke about Ukraine's steps to restore a just peace and his expectations from these international events.
The Head of State noted that Ukraine has done everything possible to open negotiations on accession to the European Union.
"Only politics remains. Instrumentally and operationally, we have done everything to ensure that the EU opens negotiations with Ukraine in June. I think everything will work out. Even with complicated partners, things have become a little easier today. We have been actively working with them," the President noted.
Volodymyr Zelensky also noted that he and his entire team are actively preparing for the Global Peace Summit to be held on June 15-16 in Switzerland.
"We want to get energy security, including nuclear security. I believe that everyone is interested in this, and it can enable us to predict a different winter. We want to get free navigation. Any cargo through the Ukrainian sea should be risk-free. This means the safety of people in Odesa and the South in general. We also need to take a serious step towards the exchange of prisoners," the President emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelensky added: "We need a detailed plan that the whole world will agree upon. And it should be based on the Ukrainian Peace Formula."
"If there is a solid number of countries and a corresponding communiqué, I believe it will be our diplomatic advantage," the Head of State summarized.
