The Sulina Canal in Romania on the Danube has started operating in round-the-clock mode. Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov, announced this on Facebook.

"We are returning with a decision on night navigation on the Sulina Canal. It is already operational. We expect our Romanian colleagues to provide the necessary number of pilots. In this case, we will reach a 4 million ton monthly export capacity," he wrote.

Officials are also working on increasing the capacity of railway and road checkpoints in a four-party format: Romania – USA – European Commission – Ukraine with the participation of Moldova. Two key issues they are currently working on include coordinating the pilot project at the crossing point "Krasnoilsk – Vicovu de Sus" for truck traffic and the "green corridor" through the crossing points "Reni – Dzurzhuleshty – Galati" between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.

"We also started repair work at the Reni checkpoint in November to create conditions for joint control with Moldova. In the first quarter of next year, we plan to complete this work and launch joint control. At the same time, we drew the attention of our colleagues to the need to increase specialists in phytosanitary and veterinary control at the border," Kubrakov concluded.
