Czechia continues to support Ukraine by supplying ammunition within the initiative that was started last year. This year alone, Ukraine has received almost 400,000 large-caliber shells.

This was reported by Novinky.cz.

Defense Minister Jana Černochová stated that the Czech initiative for supplying ammunition is ongoing. According to her, by the end of April, 400,000 large-caliber ammunition units will be delivered to Ukraine.

To date, Czechia has invested 1 billion Czech korunas into this initiative.

"I will not provide more information because military intelligence is an agency that has some classified issues that I will not discuss publicly," said the minister.

According to the publication, thanks to the Czech initiative on ammunition, Russia's artillery advantage has decreased by 500%.

Recall that last year, Czech President Petr Pavel stated that his country had identified 800,000 shells that could be purchased for Ukraine. The President clarified that the shells could be delivered within a few weeks, but funding was needed.

In June 2024, Czechia reported that the first batch of artillery shells purchased under this initiative had arrived in Ukraine.

Recently, it became known that Czechia, as part of this initiative, will be able to provide Ukraine with as many shells as in 2024, namely 1.5 million units.
