Ukraine has received a €4.2 billion tranche from the European Union as part of the Ukraine Facility program, which has a total budget of €50 billion.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this, in his post on Telegram.

He stated that these funds will be directed toward social programs, humanitarian efforts, and other crucial budgetary programs.

"We continue to finance military expenditures exclusively from our own resources," he wrote.

According to the Ministry of Finance's press service, the tranche consists of €2.7 billion in concessional financing and a €1.5 billion grant.

Shmyhal also reminded that since the beginning of the year, the EU has provided Ukraine with over €12 billion in budgetary support.

"We continue to implement reforms that are crucial for our resilience, development, and future. Our European partners support these efforts. We expect to receive another tranche of aid by the end of the year," the Prime Minister added.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU is allocating nearly €4.2 billion to Ukraine today under the €50 billion Ukraine Facility programme "to support the functioning of the Ukrainian state while you fight for your survival."
