Five more families with children have been successfully returned from the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson region Military Administration,

"Five families have returned from temporarily occupied Kherson to territory controlled by Ukraine. They are raising eight children: five boys and three girls, aged between 6 and 14 years."

He stated that the children and their parents are now safe. The return operation was managed by the charity organization "Save Ukraine."

Prokudin noted that since the beginning of 2024, 181 children have been brought back to Ukrainian-controlled territory from occupied Kherson region.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been deporting Ukrainian children to Belarus, Russia, and occupied Crimea, and holding Ukrainians in temporarily occupied areas.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that Russia has illegally deported over 19,000 Ukrainian children.
