On Thursday, October 27, the state trader Energy Company of Ukraine carried out the first test import of electricity from Europe.
The press service of the enterprise reported this.
Test import of electricity took place from Slovakia. Its power was 1 MW.
"The technical ability to import electricity from Europe to Ukraine is another tool to stabilize the operation of our energy system. We must be ready for its implementation," said Vitaliy Butenko, General Director of ECU JSC.
It is noted that the Energy Company of Ukraine received the right to import as a result of an open auction for access to interstate power grids. It was held on Thursday, October 25, by the national transmission system operator NPC Ukrenergo.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the armed forces of the Russian Federation have carried out 85 attacks on Ukrainian electric power facilities. The invaders carried out 51 such attacks in October. As a result of such strikes, many regions introduced power outage schedules.
