During a meeting with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso in London, the First Deputy Prime Minister - the Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko, discussed all possible ways of assistance from the EBRD in overcoming the energy crisis caused by Russian aggression.
"The recent decision to finance Ukrenergo projects of 372 million euros, which also includes grant funds from the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is particularly timely and relevant for the rapid repair of damage caused by massive bombing," Yuliya Svyridenko emphasized.
During the meeting, additional measures that can be implemented by the bank in Ukraine, in particular in the field of energy saving, were discussed.
The main topic of the conversation was the strategy of the EBRD's presence in Ukraine. The experience of assistance in project financing this year allows increasing the scope of the EBRD's activities in Ukraine. The ambition of the goals of the EBRD and the Government will allow the realization of investments in the amount of up to 3 billion euros already next year.
The government is doing everything to increase the efficiency of working with the bank, particularly in strengthening policies that directly affect the implementation of projects in Ukraine, primarily in the corporate management of state-owned companies that are EBRD clients.
She also informed Ms. Odile Reno-Basso that the Government is now betting on the development of such priority industries as the digital economy, agriculture, including the processing and food industry, and metallurgy.
In addition, the parties are also working on coordination with other partners and discussing preparations for the next reconstruction conferences in Paris and London.
