Ukraine received a EUR 100 million loan from the French Development Agency on preferential terms. The funds are directed to the general fund of the State Budget to finance priority expenditures, particularly social and humanitarian.
"We highly appreciate France's contribution to maintaining the stability of Ukraine's financial system and its willingness to support our state in the fight against the aggressor. Financial assistance to Ukraine today is an investment in a peaceful future on the European continent," stressed the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko.
The loan is provided on preferential terms: the interest rate is 1.04% per annum, and the final repayment of the loan is carried out 15 years from the date of the loan agreement (taking into account the grace period for deferring repayment of the loan for a period of more than 5 years from the date of the conclusion of the loan agreement).
The total amount of direct budget support from France since February 24, 2022 reaches 432 million US dollars.
On November 28, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, and the Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France, Bruno Le Maire, signed an Agreement on providing Ukraine with a loan of up to 100 million euros from the French Development Agency.
