On August 1, Ukraine received the first EUR 500 million as part of the exceptional EU Macro-Financial Assistance, the total amount of which is EUR 1 billion. The receipt of the second part in the amount of EUR 500 million is expected on August 2.
The funds will be directed to financing the priority needs of the State Budget and will contribute to the preservation of financial stability in Ukraine.
"I am sincerely grateful to our partners for their systematic support of Ukraine. The cooperation of the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Ukraine with European colleagues at all levels made it possible to ensure the attraction of credit funds from the EU in a quick manner", noted the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.
The total amount of EU Macro-Financial Assistance attracted by Ukraine will amount to EUR 7.21 billion (taking into account the credit funds received during 2014-2022 within the framework of six implemented programs, and EUR 1 billion within the framework of the new exceptional program of the MFA).
On July 1, 2022, the European Commission announced a decision to allocate additional resources of financial support to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 1 billion. Subsequently, this decision was supported by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.
