Repatriation measures have taken place. One thousand bodies have been returned to Ukraine, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for Prisoner of War Affairs.

In the near future, investigative authorities, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will carry out all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.

These repatriation efforts were made possible through the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters for Prisoner of War Affairs, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other structures of Ukraine’s security and defense sector.

We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks are extended to the personnel of the Central Directorate of the Medical and Sanitary Service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for Medical and Sanitary Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who transport the repatriated bodies to designated state specialized institutions and organize the handover of the deceased to law enforcement authorities within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and to forensic examination under the Ministry of Health. Investigative authorities, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will promptly establish the identities of the deceased.

Glory to the fallen Heroes!
