The State Customs Service of Ukraine, the Customs Administration of Romania, and the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova have launched the second stage of the pilot project for the exchange of pre-customs information. The project will run until July 12, 2024, and will be implemented at the border crossings "Porubne – Siret" and "Reni – Giurgiulești – Galați" using the SEED+ platform with the support of the EU4Digital Programme.

The introduction of the mechanism for exchanging pre-customs information will expedite the customs formalities procedure and allow for more efficient use of customs infrastructure. For the EU, this procedure will facilitate simplification of international trade, prevent VAT fraud, and counteract transborder crime.

The State Customs Service is actively working to expand cooperation with EU member states in the field of exchanging pre-customs information. This pilot project is an important step towards Ukraine's integration into the European customs space.

The EU4Digital Programme is funded by the European Union and aims to support digital transformation in the Eastern Partnership countries.
