Head of the Recovery Agency Serhiy Sukhomlyn signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the leading Korean asphalt concrete manufacturer SG.
The focus is on cooperation in road construction using the EcoSteel Ascon technology.
“In January, we met representatives of the Korean companies POSCO International and SG. Since then, we have held a number of meetings and planned joint projects, including the construction of RDF-based thermal power plants in Ukrainian communities together with POSCO. Now we have signed a Memorandum with SG. We will adopt Korea’s 10-year experience — the ecological EcoSteel Ascon technology,” said Serhiy Sukhomlyn.
EcoSteel Ascon is an eco-friendly asphalt technology that increases the durability of road surfaces by using a metallurgical by-product — slag. Plans include technology exchange and the implementation of joint projects, particularly on highways such as the R-55.
