The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the French federation InfraNum have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of telecommunications. This will enable the development of joint solutions for the restoration and development of electronic communications in Ukraine, particularly in the frontline territories affected by Russian aggression.

"We are grateful to our partners for understanding the importance of supporting Ukraine's electronic communications sector during such a challenging time for us. Every day, we face tests of the resilience of our infrastructure and technologies due to enemy shelling. However, we want not only to defend ourselves but also to develop and share our experience," said Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science, and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation.

To implement projects under the memorandum, the InfraNum federation has received a grant of 756,000 euros from the French National Fund. These funds will be used for joint research into the needs of the sector, as well as for the restoration and expansion of broadband internet access in Ukraine.

Additionally, within the framework of the memorandum, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and InfraNum will work on launching a pilot project to establish or restore access to high-speed internet. They will also exchange information and best practices regarding digital development, including the deployment of broadband access networks.

"By signing the memorandum, we are moving towards providing practical assistance to Ukraine in protecting and developing critical electronic communications infrastructure. Over the past year, we have been in discussions with representatives of the Ukrainian government to determine needs, risks, and the scope of cooperation. Today, we are here to launch this process and demonstrate our solidarity in building a sustainable future for Ukraine," said InfraNum President Philippe Le Grand.

Le Grand noted that during the two-day visit to Ukraine, meetings are planned with representatives of Ukrainian internet service provider companies.

InfraNum is a federation established in 2012 to support the French national program France Très Haut Débit. It brings together over 200 companies representing all sectors of digital infrastructure (design offices, operators, integrators, equipment manufacturers, service providers, etc.).

The federation's priority areas of work include deploying high-speed broadband communication networks, data management for the development of electronic communications technologies in "smart" cities, increasing demand for fiber optic-related professions, improving and promoting the French network model abroad. In particular, the federation promotes partnerships between all participants in the electronic communications sector.
