Canada will allocate $24.5 million to the partnership led by the United Kingdom, which is purchasing air defense equipment for Ukraine. This information was provided by Canada's Ministry of Defense, citing Minister Bill Blair.
Bill Blair stated that Canada will support the partnership led by the United Kingdom, which is supplying high-priority air defense equipment to Ukraine, and will allocate $24.5 million for this purpose.
"Canada will contribute to the United Kingdom-led partnership that is delivering high priority air defence equipment to Ukraine. This initiative was established in June 2023 by several countries including Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and will help provide urgently needed air defence missiles to help Ukraine defend against Russia’s missile and drone attacks," noted the Minister of Defense of Canada.
This contribution is part of Canada's military assistance to Kyiv amounting to $500 million, which Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in June.
This initiative, launched in June 2023, involves several countries, including Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Its goal is to provide urgently needed air defense missiles to help Ukraine defend against missile strikes and drone attacks from Russia.
