The startup SorbiForce, co-founded and led by Ukrainian CEO Serhii Kaminskyi, has raised over $270,000 through the crowdfunding platform StartEngine.
According to the platform, SorbiForce was backed by 183 investors (with a minimum investment of $500), and the startup is valued at $20 million.
Founded in Ukraine in 2017, SorbiForce is now registered in the state of Delaware, USA. On its LinkedIn page, the company claims to have introduced "the world’s first non-metallic eco-friendly battery"—in contrast to most batteries today, which are made using rare earth metals like lithium.
The company claims its battery is the most cost-efficient and safest, has zero environmental impact, and is made from renewable materials.
SorbiForce’s mission is to help humanity transition fully to renewable energy sources by creating, implementing, and globally distributing non-metallic batteries for the energy storage market.
