On the night of April 24, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the Smolensk region, according to the governor of the region, Vasiliy Anokhin.
"Most likely, as a result of the enemy's attack on civilian fuel and energy facilities in the territory of the Smolensk and Yartsevo districts, fires occurred. The emergencies ministry is on site to eliminate the consequences," Anokhin wrote in a Telegram channel.
According to the Telegram channel Shot, the first explosion occurred at 3:15 a.m. in the area of the oil depot near the village of Razdorovo (about 20 km from Smolensk). Approximately 15 minutes later, another explosion occurred, after which there was a glow and smoke in the area of the industrial facility. Around four in the morning, several more loud explosions were heard.
At the same time, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, only one drone was shot down over the Smolensk region on the night of April 24. Another seven were destroyed or intercepted over the Kursk, Belgorod, and Voronezh regions.
The previous time Ukrainian drones flew into the Smolensk region was on April 20. At that time, as a result of the debris from a downed drone falling on the fuel and energy complex, a container with fuel and lubricants caught fire, the governor reported.
