Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitalii Koval, paid a working visit to TBF Group’s plants in the Lviv region, where the company manufactures fruit concentrates.

According to the Minister, TBF Group is a Ukrainian company group that has been specializing in the processing of fruits, vegetables, and berries for over 20 years. The company’s journey began in 2003 with its first plant. Today, TBF Group operates five plants across Ukraine and has become one of the largest producers of concentrated juices in Europe.

"Every tenth bottle of juice in the world is made from Ukrainian fruit concentrates. The group processes around 300,000 tonnes of raw materials each season. Its key markets include not only retail chains in Ukraine but also the EU and the USA," Koval noted.

He added that most of the plants were built as greenfield projects, allowing the use of advanced manufacturing technologies and ensuring high energy efficiency. All plants in the group operate on a closed-loop production cycle, which reduces waste levels to zero.

"Despite the war, the owners didn’t give up — on the contrary, they expanded into a new direction. They launched the Westnol bioethanol plant, with its first production line opened at the end of 2024. The facility currently produces 4,500 m³ of bioethanol per month. The goal is to quadruple this output annually. The main raw material is corn, with 11,500 tonnes processed monthly," the Minister explained.

Vitalii Koval also noted that along with bioethanol, the company produces by-products such as dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS), corn oil, and plans to begin producing liquefied CO₂.

“This example is truly inspiring. The goal of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is to transform Ukraine from an agricultural to an agro-industrial country — and the development of deep processing is one of the key paths to achieving this,” he emphasized.
