Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration Alexander Balanutsa held talks with the Bulgarian Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine, Nikolay Nenchev. The Deputy Minister congratulated his colleague on the new position and thanked him for his active pro-Ukrainian stance.

Nikolay Nenchev, who served as Bulgaria's Minister of Defense from 2014 to 2017, has a good understanding of and supports the initiatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The Ukrainian and Bulgarian sides discussed ways to continue cooperation and assistance, including the training of Ukrainian military personnel within EUMAM.

"Thank you for your steadfast position and support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian terrorists. I hope that your work as the Bulgarian Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine will benefit both countries," said Deputy Minister Alexander Balanutsa.

Additionally, the sides discussed Bulgaria's participation in capability coalitions – thanking them for their involvement in the integrated air and missile defense coalition and joining the coalition for the development of maritime capabilities. The Ukrainian side also invited Bulgaria to join other coalitions, including the de-mining coalition.

"Bulgaria supports Ukraine's path to the EU and NATO, which will significantly enhance the region's defense capabilities. Despite Russia's significant influence on Bulgaria, we remain on your side in this war," assured Nikolay Nenchev, the Bulgarian Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine.
