The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is working on a systematic solution to the issue of saturating the Ukrainian market with the required amount of fuel. One of the key decisions was direct long-term contracts with the largest fuel producers in Europe and the world.

In particular, JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and one of the largest oil refining companies in Eastern Europe PKN Orlen (Poland) agreed on strategic cooperation regarding the supply of diesel fuel by the Polish company for the needs of the Ukrainian economy.

The transition to the strategic dimension of cooperation became possible thanks to the Polish company's successful experience of fuel supplies to Ukraine in recent months.

"We understand that it is complicated to solve the fuel shortage problem exclusively by business forces. Therefore, together with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmygal, and the government team, a decision was made to attract large oil companies to the Ukrainian market and sign direct long-term contracts with them. JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" was designated as the state importer of fuel for the economy's needs.

Today, there are agreements on long-term cooperation with the Polish company PKN Orlen, one of the largest oil refining companies in Eastern Europe. In particular, it is about both system and operational supplies of fuel. Thus, we expect not only an improvement in the shortage situation but also a decrease in the price of diesel at gas stations.

We plan that in the near future we will be able to provide the key fuel needs of the country - the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, farmers, industry, and the civilian population.

I am grateful to our Polish friends for systematic cooperation and unwavering support in the fight against Russian aggression," commented the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov.

This result was achieved in fulfillment of the instructions of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, regarding fuel saturation of the domestic market, which suffered a temporary shortage due to Russia's full-scale aggression.

At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia works with other major suppliers of oil products to saturate the Ukrainian economy with the required amount of fuel.

We will remind, in order to overcome the fuel crisis in Ukraine, in May, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland agreed on the cancellation of permits for all carriers that carry out international transportation of fuel.

In parallel, work is underway to increase the capacity of checkpoints on the western borders of Ukraine and develop a network of logistics hubs near the borders.
