Since the beginning of August, the Ukrainian railway has transported 1.016 million tons of agricultural products.
According to the results of the 23 days of August, transportation by railways of Ukraine in the export connection amounted to 1 million 16 thousand tons, which is already more than in the previous month. Positive dynamics are observed primarily due to the "grain corridor" work. Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" talked about this during the formal meeting with representatives of the agricultural market.
According to the UZ, 549,000 tons were sent through land border crossings, and 467,000 tons were sent to seaports.
The August indicators already exceed July's results, when 917,000 tons were transported for export. For comparison, in March, the volumes were 416,000 tons. So, according to Valery Tkachev, the railway in August will set a record for export transportation of agricultural products since the beginning of martial law in the country.
On the other hand, the official noted that before the large-scale war, UZ transported up to 4 million tons of grain per month in export connections, so there is something to strive for.
