Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitalii Koval participated in the forum "Strategic European Integration: Bioethanol Gasoline. How the Fuel Market Will Function from May 1."
During his speech, Vitalii Koval emphasized that bioethanol production in Ukraine has significant development potential.
"Each ton of bioethanol represents 3 tons of corn that are removed from export and turned into added value within the country. It is important for us to build bioethanol plants and develop deep processing in Ukraine to increase the value of exports. Therefore, I urge everyone present to think about using fuel within the country. For example, Brazil uses bioethanol as fuel not only for agricultural machinery but also for cars," the Minister emphasized.
Vitalii Koval also noted that the development of bioenergy is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. This is not only about energy independence but also about providing additional income for farmers.
Note: Starting May 1, 2025, according to the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Mandatory Use of Liquid Biofuels (Biocomponents) in the Transport Sector," all automotive gasoline sold in wholesale and retail fuel markets will be required to contain at least 5% liquid biofuel (biocomponents) by volume.
