Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Oslo on Wednesday, December 13, for an unannounced visit, according to the Norwegian government's press service.
President Zelensky and Prime Minister Støre will have meetings to discuss various topics, including Norway's further support to Ukraine. President Zelensky will also attend a Nordic summit to be held in Oslo the same day.
‘I am pleased to have the opportunity to welcome Volodomyr Zelensky to Norway. I look forward to our constructive talks. Norway will continue to support Ukraine's fight to defend itself. We are providing targeted, long-term support to assist Ukraine in its battle for freedom and democracy. Ukraine’s efforts are important to safeguarding freedom and security here in Norway as well”, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The meeting between President Zelensky and Prime Minister Støre will be followed by a press conference.
President Zelensky will then join Prime Minister Støre, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Icelandic Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the Nordic summit.
The summit will be followed by a press conference with President Zelensky and the Nordic heads of government, which can be viewed here.
