In Berlin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Ukrainian leader thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for its European leadership in the amount of assistance provided to Ukraine, especially in the defense sector. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the same high level in the coming year.
The main topic of the talks was the security situation in Ukraine and the needs in the face of constant Russian attacks on the energy grid and active hostilities on the frontline.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development of regional partnerships, in particular with the frontline regions, and agreed to continue making every effort to further develop the network of such cooperation.
The President of Germany noted the success of his patronage in the reconstruction of the Chernihiv region. The Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has supported a range of projects, including the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska to arrange shelters in educational institutions in the Chernihiv region.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier also pledged Germany's unwavering support for Ukraine and the German people's solidarity with Ukrainians.
