President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas, who visited our country.
The Head of State emphasized that Lithuania is a friend and a strategic partner of Ukraine, and it has been so before the full-scale Russian invasion.
"Lithuania has been with us from the very beginning, and I am confident that it will be with us until our victory," he said.
Volodymyr Zelensky conveyed greetings and thanks to President of Lithuania Gitanas NausÄda, and First Lady Diana NausÄdienÄ for their comprehensive support of Ukraine and our state's international initiatives. He highly appreciated substantial defense and humanitarian aid, support for the activities of the Crimea Platform, as well as within the framework of the United Nations.
"At all venues where assistance and allied support are needed, we see Lithuania among friends," the Head of State said.
During the meeting, detailed discussions on further steps to enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities with Lithuania's support, including strengthening air defense, providing armored vehicles for medical evacuation, and demining equipment, took place.
There was an exchange of views on current issues related to Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Arvydas Anušauskas also discussed further steps for bilateral dialogue at the highest level.
