During his working visit to Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The Head of the Ukrainian state thanked Germany and the German people for their significant and comprehensive assistance to our country. Volodymyr Zelensky specifically noted that Germany provided temporary protection to over a million Ukrainians, the largest number among European countries.

The leaders discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the current needs of our country against the backdrop of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities and active combat operations along the entire front.

The President of Ukraine thanked Germany for hosting and organizing this year's International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

"We highly appreciate Germany's pan-European leadership and all the assistance provided to Ukraine. Following the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, we expect concrete agreements and results for the development of the economy, attracting foreign investments, and eliminating the consequences of extensive destruction caused by Russian aggression," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

The leaders discussed Ukraine's expectations from the inaugural Peace Summit, the outcome of which should be the implementation of the three points of the Ukrainian peace formula. The President of Ukraine noted Germany's participation in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children Illegally Deported by Russia.

During the meeting, they also discussed the partnership between Ukrainian and German cities and communities. The presidents took it under their joint patronage in October 2022. At that time, Frank-Walter Steinmeier paid special attention to the restoration of Chernihiv region.
