Belarusian gaming company Wargaming, in collaboration with the Ukrainian fundraising platform UNITED24, has announced the launch of the charitable project WargamingUnited. This initiative encompasses all six games developed by the company, and the skins for charitable fundraising were created by artists from a Kyiv-based studio.
"We at Wargaming love games about war, but we hate real war. This topic is especially sensitive for us because we have a whole studio in Kyiv, and our employees there continue to work on updates and events for World of Tanks despite all the horrors their country is going through," as stated in the project description.
Wargaming emphasized that they have participated in several campaigns to support Ukrainians, including donating $1 million for medical aid and equipment in the first week of the full-scale war. Additionally, the company contributed $100,000 to aid those affected by the destruction of the Kakhovska HES dam and 200,000 euros for the purchase of ambulances for Ukrainian medics.
WargamingUnited will become their largest charity project. In games like World of Tanks on PC, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Tanks: Modern Armor, World of Warships, World of Warships: Legends, and World of Warplanes, special sets dedicated to Ukraine will become available. These sets will contain cosmetic items created by artists from Wargaming's studio in Kyiv.
These sets will be available for a limited time, from October 18th to November 1st. "By purchasing them, you can not only express your support but also acquire valuable in-game assets," the company stated.
Wargaming will donate 100% of the proceeds from each WargamingUnited set to "Medical Aid" through UNITED24 to purchase Type C ambulances, which will help save lives. The project's website also features a counter that allows you to see how many sets have been purchased in total.
