“Kaleidoscope of (Hi)stories. Art from Ukraine” is a series of video lectures, conceived and developed by the State Art Collections Dresden (SKD) in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute.
It presents the core of modern and contemporary Ukrainian art told by leading Ukrainian scholars. Combining academic rigor with accessibility for diverse audiences, this educational series navigates through various artistic phenomena of the complex and turbulent history of the 20th and 21st centuries.
They delve into topics such as the sixtiers, Ukrainian cinema of the 20th century, and women in Soviet Ukrainian naive art. Among other lecture themes are the Kharkiv School of Photography and contemporary Ukrainian art during "revolutionary upheavals."
Speakers include the co-founder of The Naked Room gallery, Liza Veta Herman, film critic Ivan Kozlenko, art historians Alisa Lozhkina, and Valeriya Shiller. All lectures are available at the link provided.
