The interior of Terra restaurant by YOD Group received the Grand Prix of the LIV Hospitality Design Awards in the Eating Space category.
The restaurant is located in Vynnyky, Lviv region, and belongs to the Emily Resort complex.
"Visit the Terra restaurant is like a tour of western Ukraine," describes the project team, which presented its vision of the concept of the four elements in the interior and "translated" the landscape into the language of design: "It's like the Eyedropper tool in Photoshop, but in on the scale of real life," commented the designers. This approach was called "terroir design" (the word was borrowed from winemaking).
The visual rhythm of the restaurant hall is set by round accent columns covered with green glass bricks. Inside each column, the lighting system creates a soft green gradient.
The column with the largest diameter conceals a circular wine room, where bottle shelves and a spiral staircase are placed around the perimeter. On the lower shelves, there are affordable and popular brands of wine, and on the top - top collectible varieties. The room is designed for 3500 bottles. The total weight of the wine room is more than 20 tons, and the height is 6 meters.
Columns lined with mini-format terracotta tiles serve as "stations" for waiters. Through them, the local tradition of covering fireplaces in the furnace with ceramics was reflected. Terracotta tiles were made in a local ceramic workshop.
Volodymyr Nepiyvoda and Dmytro Bonesco founded the YOD studio in 2004 in Kyiv. She develops an interior design for restaurants, hotels and cafes.
Previously, the interior of the Terra restaurant was already the winner of the competition from the American magazine Interior Design Magazine called Best of Year, and was also included in the shortlist of the Dezeen Awards.
