In the future, the Mykolaiv Sea Trade Port may join the ports specified in the Istanbul Grain Agreement.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yuriy Vaskov said this in an exclusive interview for Latifundist.

According to him, Ukraine understands the role of Mykolaiv in ensuring agricultural exports. Therefore, I raised this issue with the partners of the Initiative.

We agreed that if the corridor from the ports of Odessa will work safely for a long time, then we will make an offer to our partners regarding the port of Mykolaiv

At the same time, he suggested that, in his opinion, consideration of this issue is possible no earlier than in a month.

The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure added that although "there is a factor of drifting mines — it is difficult to predict," but "all technical and safety procedures have been completed."

Of course, there is the factor of drifting mines. For this, increased surveillance is conducted in the sea. An escort tug goes ahead of merchant ships on the approaches to our ports to eliminate possible risks. This will apply to various classes of vessels both inbound and outbound, including handy sizes
