Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny had his first phone conversation with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Charles Brown, where he informed him about the operational situation on the front lines.
"First and foremost, I briefed my colleague on the current state of affairs, the operational situation on the front lines, our steps in defense and offense. I informed him about the intensification of enemy actions on certain fronts and their likely plans. With General Brown, we also discussed the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including air defense systems, artillery systems, and ammunition," Zaluzhny wrote in his Telegram channel on Friday.
He also mentioned that he expressed gratitude to the United States for another package of military assistance, which the U.S. announced the day before.
The generals separately discussed issues related to the training of Ukrainian servicemen and the restoration of units.
"General Brown expressed assurance of support for Ukraine and fruitful cooperation in countering Russian aggression," Zaluzhny wrote.
