The candidacy of former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, has been approved for the position of ambassador to Britain.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

It is noted that on Thursday, March 7, 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved the candidacy of Valeriy Zaluzhny for the position of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has sent a relevant request for agrément to the British side," the statement said.

In July 2023, Zelensky dismissed Vadym Prystaiko from the position of Ukraine's ambassador to Britain.
