The annual Halifax International Security Forum in Halifax, Canada, brought together representatives from diplomatic and defense agencies, leading international media, experts, and companies from many countries, most of which are already allies of Ukraine.
One of the main topics of the forum was the war in Ukraine, tools to enhance the effectiveness of the Ukrainian military, and technologies that could change the course of the war. The Ukrainian delegation shared successful technological solutions on the battlefield and encouraged partners to join cooperation in the field of IT and innovation.
"We are very fortunate to have so many talented and qualified individuals in our Armed Forces who offer various solutions—such as the use of cost-effective drones inflicting significant damage on the occupier's army, or 3D printers for manufacturing spare parts. Moreover, we often lack time or resources, and as a result, quick but intelligent internal solutions become crucial to gaining an advantage over our enemy," said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Katerina Chernogorenko, who led our delegation, during her speech at the Forum.
Additionally, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of meetings at the Canadian forum, including with the U.S. Special Representative for Economic Reconstruction in Ukraine, the Deputy Assistant Secretary-General of NATO, the Minister of Defense of Estonia, and representatives of Canada's defense sector.
