The Czech Initiative on Ammunition for Ukraine Guarantees Supply Until September
This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský on Thursday in Brussels.
“The big thing is that we were able to secure funding, so this initiative currently has enough resources to send ammunition to Ukraine on a monthly basis until September,” Lipavský informed, thanking Canada, Norway, and Denmark, among others.
The minister noted that this initiative reduces the effectiveness of Russian artillery “by 500 percent.” He explained that thanks to the ammunition purchased under this initiative, the ratio was reduced from 1:10 (in favor of the Russian army) to 1:2.
Lipavský emphasized that the Czech initiative is in no way contradictory to the European Commission's initiative for 2 million ammunition rounds.
The Foreign Minister also reported that Czech industry sent 1.5 million ammunition rounds to Ukraine last year, half a million of which were large caliber.
