Thanks to the allocation of ₴5.2 billion by the government for the repair and restoration of roads in front-line and near-front-line regions, strategic logistics routes essential for Ukraine’s defense capacity are planned to be reinforced.

This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Community and Territory Development, Oleksii Kuleba, as reported the Ministry.

According to Kuleba, “military logistics must function uninterruptedly—this is one of the conditions for maintaining defense capacity. These are the routes used daily by the military, for the evacuation of soldiers and civilians, and for the delivery of humanitarian aid. Road restoration in near-front-line areas directly impacts the effectiveness of these processes and life-saving efforts.”

Over ₴2.6 billion is allocated to the State Agency for Reconstruction for the repair and maintenance of destroyed or damaged public roads of national importance, which are used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Regional state administrations are allocated more than ₴2.5 billion for repair and maintenance of destroyed or damaged public roads of local importance, which are also used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kuleba emphasized that all roads planned for repairs are used for the transportation of military and humanitarian cargo and as evacuation routes in near-front-line territories.

He added that the first priority will be the restoration of the road surface to return the routes to operation as quickly as possible.
