In Latvia, the fundraising campaign “In Thoughts and Deeds with Ukraine!” concluded, during which residents of the country collected more than €240,000 to support Ukrainian soldiers. The initiative, timed to coincide with Ukraine’s Independence Day, ran from August 18 to September 3.
The campaign was organized by Latvian public broadcaster LSM in partnership with the charitable organization Ziedot.lv. The funds raised will be fully allocated to purchasing essential equipment and supplies for Ukrainian troops, including night vision devices, clothing, and locally produced food. In this way, the initiative also supported local Latvian producers.
Ziedot.lv director Ruta Dimanta emphasized that the donated money would be converted into tangible aid for Ukrainian soldiers.
The first shipments of goods purchased with these funds are expected to reach Ukraine by the end of September.
The organizers expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the campaign and reminded that donations to support Ukraine can still be made via the Ziedot.lv website or the Stopify platform. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, LSM and Ziedot.lv have raised over €2 million to assist Ukrainians.
