The Russian aggressor has already abandoned the tactics of using entire battalions and is operating in small groups.

The Russian occupiers abandoned the old tactics of attacking by large battalion formations and are now trying to operate in small groups. This was told by the commander of the grouping of forces and means of defense of Kyiv, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"Now the Russians are operating in smaller assault groups. There are many new options for action, and the enemy is testing their effectiveness. Some of them give results. Some, on the contrary, lead to huge losses," the lieutenant general said.

Pavlyuk noted that the Russians are gradually learning to fight, just as the Ukrainians are learning, but a characteristic feature of the Russian army is that it does not take into account the losses of its personnel at all.

"They have an advantage due to the huge mass that goes against us … For Moscow, people are the usual biomass to fulfill their goals," Pavlyuk said.

The general does not consider this feature of the Russian army to be a vulnerability since, in the past, it was precisely such a strategy that allowed Russia to win wars.

"When Russia won wars, it always won them by pouring blood on the enemy with its troops. This was also during the Second World War, when hundreds of thousands of unarmed people were thrown into positions and in the end, achieved results. Therefore, the significance of this mass should be considered seriously," Pavlyuk concluded.
