Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who took part in today’s meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, stated that allies in Europe and the United States must unite to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
This was reported in a statement issued by the Italian government.
The meeting took place following recent parallel decisions by the European Union and the United States to impose new sanctions against Russia in response to Moscow’s continued refusal to end its military actions.
“During her address via video link, President Meloni reiterated the importance of unity between the two sides of the Atlantic in pursuing a ceasefire, on the basis of which to launch a credible negotiation process starting from the current line of contact, with the goal of achieving a just and lasting peace,” the statement said.
