Leningrad region
During the night, explosions occurred in the area of the oil terminal of the seaport in the town of Ust-Luga. A powerful fire broke out there.
The Governor of Leningrad region reported that allegedly the staff had been evacuated, and no one was injured. However, based on footage published online, it can be concluded that the fire was extensive.
Local residents on social media claimed that an increased readiness mode had allegedly been introduced.
Online reports suggested that the fire at the Ust-Luga port was caused by drones, with claims that two drones attacked the Novatek gas terminal. Novatek is one of the world's largest producers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and one of the largest exporters of Russian LNG.
Additionally, it should be noted that the town of Ust-Luga is located over 1000 km from the borders of Ukraine.
Tula
Late in the evening on January 20, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Tula. Russians claimed that a drone was allegedly shot down there. However, videos were circulated online showing the "arrival" of the drone.
Later, it was reported online that drones had attacked the military plant "Shcheglovsky Val," where they assemble the anti-aircraft missile systems "Pantsir-S" and "Pantsir-S1."
