The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has organized another batch of medical evacuations for injured Ukrainians under the "Medevac" program. The primary countries receiving patients are Norway, France, the Netherlands, and Lithuania.
The Medevac programme, supported by the European Commission, WHO, and the governments of European countries, allows Ukrainians to receive specialized treatment in leading European clinics at no cost. Since the start of the full-scale war, over 5,000 children and adults have been evacuated, including those injured in shelling, patients with tumors, rare diseases, and military personnel.
Currently, several medical evacuation routes are available for treatment abroad, including:
- Through the regional health department;
- By submitting a personal application through the Ministry of Health’s website under the "Citizens" section;
- For military personnel — by applying for evacuation through the command of the Ukrainian Medical Forces.
It is important to note that treatment abroad under the Medevac programme is free for Ukrainians — all expenses are covered by the partner countries' governments. Medical institutions in over 30 countries, including Austria, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Poland, Lithuania, France, and others, accept patients.
