The Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Interdistrict Water Management Department supplied over 14 million cubic meters of irrigation water to the fields of agricultural producers throughout 2025.
According to the press service of the State Agency for Land Reclamation, Fisheries, and Food Programs, this volume is the highest recorded in recent years.
“The achieved results demonstrate the stable operation of irrigation systems and the effective organization of cooperation with the region’s agricultural producers. The uninterrupted work of pumping stations and the professional activity of specialists from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Water Management Department enabled farmers to secure a generous harvest, despite challenging agro-climatic conditions,” the agency noted.
It added that the largest volumes of water are used for growing grain crops. In particular, irrigation allows corn yields to increase several times compared to rain-fed cultivation.
At the same time, the department’s specialists continue the planned implementation of measures aimed at modernizing reclamation systems, improving energy efficiency, and introducing principles of rational water use.
