The "Wagnerites" send groups of 10 to 30 people to attack the Ukrainian positions. There is a simple explanation for this.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov named two main reasons why the Russian "prisoners", who make up the bulk of the Wagner PMC near Bakhmut, attack the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in small groups. He gave the corresponding explanation in his video blog on Wednesday, January 4.

According to Zhdanov, the conditions of defense, which on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are mainly positional, do not allow the Wagnerites to attack with large forces first of all.

“There is no way to drive battalion tactical groups on the offensive. In the summer, they went with armored vehicles, and artillery, stormed positions. Today there is nowhere to deploy a battalion. Therefore, small groups are allowed in the hope that they are less vulnerable and will have more success,” the expert noted .

Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine have adapted to defend positions in the face of attacks by groups from unit to platoon - that is, from 10 to 30 people.

The second reason is the lack of qualified personnel, that is, commanders who could lead yesterday's prisoners into battle, who are difficult to manage due to their lack of military training.

"In order to lead a company (100 people) or a battalion (500 people) into an attack, you need a whole system of military command, that is, commanders. And so they are given one person who has an idea in organizing assault operations, and he somehow manages them within reach of a voice or a radio station. And for a hundred people, you need a company commander, three platoon commanders, and ten sergeants. Where can I get them?" the expert asks rhetorically.

Therefore, in his opinion, the lack of personnel and the inability to physically and technically launch a large-scale offensive became the reason for using small groups during the assault on positions near Bakhmut.
