A Ukrainian-language audio guide is now available in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This was announced by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
It was launched in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Access is open to everyone. Visitors are offered virtual tours using augmented reality technologies through multimedia guide devices. The tours are available in 14 languages, including Ukrainian, as part of Olena Zelenska's project aimed at promoting the Ukrainian language in the world's leading landmarks. There are currently 85 such audio guides in 46 countries.
“In 2021, during the visit of the President of Ukraine to the UAE, while touring the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, we agreed to launch a Ukrainian audio guide. It is particularly important for me that from now on one of the leading attractions of the UAE will be speaking Ukrainian, which will deepen the understanding and cooperation between our peoples. At the same time, I am convinced that Ukrainian, as one of the most euphonic languages in the world, will become an additional feature of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque,” the First Lady said.
