On January 22, the Ukrainian Defense Forces engaged in 103 combat clashes with Russian forces, 55 of which occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared this information on Facebook, providing an operational update as of 10:00 PM, Wednesday, January 22.
"Since the start of the day, there have been 103 combat engagements. Russian forces launched two missile and 18 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, using four missiles and 29 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they deployed 852 kamikaze drones and carried out over 4,000 artillery strikes on our military positions and populated areas," the statement reads.
Kupiansk Direction: Russian forces conducted seven assaults near Lozova, Zahryzove, and Petropavlivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks, with one engagement still ongoing.
Lyman Direction: Russian forces launched ten attacks near Pervomaiske, Novosergiivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kuzmyne, Zelenyi Hai, Zarichne, Yampolivka, and the Serebrianske Forest. One engagement remains active.
Kramatorsk Direction: Two clashes near Chasiv Yar are ongoing.
Toretsk Direction: Russian forces attacked 13 times, focusing their efforts near Toretsk. Two engagements are still underway.
Pokrovsk Direction: Russian forces attempted 55 breakthroughs near Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Leontovychi, Zvirove, Pokrovsk, Novosergiivka, Kotlyne, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and towards Yantarnyi, Promin, and Zelenyi. Seven clashes are still ongoing. Russian forces also launched airstrikes with bombs and unguided missiles on Sukhyi Yar, Kostyantynivka, Zelene Pole, and Hrodivka.
More than 200 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction today, 102 of them irreversibly. Additionally, 13 vehicles, three UAV antennas, a satellite communication system, and a motorcycle were destroyed. One cannon and three Russian vehicles sustained significant damage.
Novopavlivka Direction: Russian forces attacked five times near Kostyantynopil and Vremivka. Four clashes have ended, while one continues. Russian forces also carried out airstrikes on Temyrivka, Novosilka, Kostyantynopil, and Rozdolne.
Dnipro Direction: Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks by Russian forces.
Kursk Direction: The Defense Forces continue operations, with Russian forces conducting nine unsuccessful assaults. Russian forces launched 15 airstrikes using 20 guided bombs and carried out 327 artillery shellings.
Kharkiv, Siversk, Orikhiv, and Huliaipole Directions: No offensive actions were conducted by Russian forces.
On other fronts, the situation remains largely unchanged.
