Over more than two years of full-scale war, Russia has systematically attacked and bombarded civilian infrastructure, including healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and maternity wards.

As of early September 2024, the Russian troops has damaged 1,658 healthcare facilities and completely destroyed 216. The greatest losses have occurred in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Comprehensive information on the extent of destruction in occupied areas is currently unavailable.

Additionally, Russian forces have damaged 198 emergency medical vehicles, destroyed 261, and seized 125.

Despite the war, ensuring quality and accessible medical services remains a priority for the state. The Ministry, along with its partners, continues to work on restoring medical infrastructure. Through reconstruction and repair, doctors can provide medical services, and patients can access necessary care.

So far, 535 healthcare facilities have been fully restored, and 354 have been partially repaired. The majority of restorations have occurred in Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. These include hospitals in liberated areas and facilities with minor damage, such as broken windows, destroyed roofs, and damaged facades. Restoration efforts will continue.

Additionally, another unit of the Chernihiv District Primary Health Care Center has resumed operations.
