Overnight on January 31, the Defense Forces shot down 59 Russian UAVs, while 37 drones failed to reach their targets (lost from tracking).
This was reported by the press service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
"On the night of January 31, 2025 (starting from 9:00 PM on January 30), the enemy launched an attack using 102 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy UAVs from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Chauda in Crimea. As of 9:00 AM, the confirmed number of downed drones stands at 59, including Shahed strike UAVs and other types of drones, intercepted over Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odessa regions," the statement reads.
It is noted that 37 Russian decoy drones were lost from tracking without causing any negative consequences.
According to the press service, the aerial attack was repelled by air defense missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the attack, Sumy, Odessa, and Cherkasy regions suffered damage.
