Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received over $126 billion in military aid from countries that are part of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the "Ramstein" format.
This was announced by Sabrina Singh, Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense, during a briefing on January 8.
She emphasized that the coalition formed by the United States plays a critical role in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and creating deterrence forces to protect against potential Russian aggression in the future.
"To date, the United States and our allies and partners have collectively committed more than $126 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022," said the Pentagon spokesperson.
Sabrina Singh added that at the upcoming 'Ramstein' meeting on Thursday, January 9, representatives of the countries will discuss the urgent weaponry needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces at the frontlines, as well as long-term defense projects.
The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense noted that the participants of the meeting would focus on "key capabilities that Ukraine needs."
In particular, this includes air defense systems (ADS), artillery ammunition, and armored vehicles, as well as efforts to strengthen Ukraine's defense-industrial complex.
